Eoghan o’ Neill RIP

As most of you may have heard ,on the 18th of March we received the very sad news that the founder of Cruthu , Eoghan o’ Neill had suddenly passed away.

Almost 11 years ago, Eoghan had the foresight to initially invite local artists and those interested in creativity to attend a meeting in St.Kevins Hall to discuss and explore if the collective attendance could form a group.

He hoped the members of this group would help and encourage not just each, other but others who wished to develop existing and unexplored talents.

It is testament to his drive since that meeting and the drive of those who have followed in his footsteps, that we continue as the strong collective we are today.

From the outset, Eoghans vision for the group and passion to make it the best it could be was clear to see, no more so than during the time when the negotiations for the Premises and its subsequent development began.

Eoghan , was a passionate socialist, who aways looked to make the world a better place,he was a gifted craftsman , a wonderful friend to many of us in the group , and will always be remembered by those who graced his presence.

May rest in peace.

A Day For Eoghan
Thank you to members who attended our opening weekend which included the unveiling of a bench dedicated to Eoghan’s memory. Thank you to Eamonn and Paul who designed and produced the beautiful bench outside the premises which we may all look forward to using during the long warm summer days ahead _ Hopefully!
